Expires on 11/12/26
$40 - $45 per hour
We’re looking for an energetic, knowledgeable and people-focused Group Fitness Coach to join our team at BFT Airport West.
This position will initially be casual, approximately 10–15 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours and further career progression for the right person.
At BFT Airport West, we’re passionate about delivering high-quality coaching while creating an environment where our members genuinely enjoy training. We’re looking for someone who can bring energy to the studio, connect with people and, most importantly, coach, not simply run a group fitness class.
THE ROLE
As a BFT Coach, you’ll be responsible for delivering structured group training sessions across a range of strength, conditioning, and hybrid training programs.
You’ll work closely with our wider coaching team to ensure every member receives a consistently high standard of coaching and has a great experience every time they walk through our doors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your role will include:
Delivering engaging, high-energy BFT group training sessions
Understanding the purpose and intent of each BFT program and coaching members accordingly
Demonstrating exercises and providing clear coaching cues
Correcting technique and providing appropriate regressions and progressions
Helping members select appropriate loads, intensities and exercise options
Building relationships with members and creating a welcoming studio environment
Supporting members with their individual training goals
Providing encouragement, accountability and genuine one-on-one coaching within the group environment
Assisting with studio challenges, testing sessions and member events
Maintaining a clean, organised and professional training environment
Working collaboratively with our Head Coach, Studio Manager and coaching team
Continuing to develop your coaching knowledge and skills through BFT education and internal training
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys coaching and working with people.
You’ll ideally be:
Confident coaching groups and communicating with different personalities and ability levels
Passionate about strength and conditioning, hybrid training and helping people improve
Personable, approachable and able to build strong relationships with members
Reliable, punctual and professional
Comfortable providing feedback and correcting technique
Willing to learn and continue developing as a coach
A team player who contributes positively to the studio culture
Able to bring energy to a session while still maintaining a strong focus on coaching quality and safety
Previous group fitness experience is highly regarded; however, attitude, coaching ability and willingness to learn are equally important to us.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should hold the relevant qualifications required to work as a fitness professional in Australia, such as:
Certificate III and/or IV in Fitness or equivalent relevant qualification
Current First Aid and CPR
Applicants with further qualifications in Exercise & Sport Science, Exercise Physiology, Strength & Conditioning or related fields are also encouraged to apply.
HOURS
This position will initially be approximately 10–15 hours per week on a casual basis.
Our timetable includes early mornings, evenings and weekends, so some flexibility across these times will be required.
There is also potential for additional hours as the role develops.
DEVELOPMENT & CAREER PROGRESSION
We want someone who is interested in developing with us, not simply picking up a few classes.
You’ll have access to ongoing BFT education, additional training and development opportunities, while working alongside an experienced coaching team.
For someone who demonstrates strong coaching ability, leadership and commitment to the studio, there is also the opportunity to take on greater responsibility over time and potentially progress into a Head Coach position.
WHY BFT AIRPORT WEST?
We’ve built an incredible community at BFT Airport West and we’re proud of the culture within both our membership base and our team.
You’ll be joining a supportive environment where coaches are encouraged to develop, contribute ideas and build genuine relationships with members.
If you’re passionate about coaching, love working with people and want the opportunity to develop your career within BFT, we’d love to hear from you.
