About SUMHIIT Fitness: 

SUMHIIT Fitness, an emerging fitness franchise concept, is a hyper-condensed, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) group workout that packs 50 minutes of supercharged exercise into only 35 minutes. Coach-led throughout the session, participants alternate every 60 seconds between heart-thumping cardio on the air bike and strength moves on the floor that keep muscles guessing. The workout unites those who love to push hard, sweat hard and celebrate wins together, creating an intense training experience unique to the fitness industry.

The Role:  

Reporting to the Studio Manager, we are currently seeking a qualified Fitness Manager who can manage the fitness side of a studio and teach rewarding SUMHIIT workouts. You will be responsible for ensuring the success of a team of SUMHIIT coaches delivering pre-designed interval and resistance training workouts for up to approximately 36 members per session. This position requires a strong ability to communicate, coach, manage and lead. Effective fitness managers can expect to split their time between personally coaching classes, managing coaches, communicating with SUMHIIT members, and driving the business through retention and membership sales efforts.

Day to day will include:

  • Lead pre-designed workouts in a group setting (approximately 15 classes per week). This includes energising and motivating clients throughout the sessions, modifying specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels and ensuring the safety of participants in regard to heart rate and exercise technique
  • Responsible for KPIs and studio success including growth targets for studio sales, revenue, EFT, new members and class capacity utilisation
  • Lead studio fitness team of 3-10 coaches and regularly perform live evaluations to reinforce standards and improve delivery/experience
  • Manage the studio’s class schedule to ensure scheduling optimisation to build and maintain SUMHIIT class size
  • Provide SUMHIIT studio tours and membership sales presentations; personally contributing to studio sales targets by generating leads & selling new memberships
  • Handling all coach sub-requests
  • Design training to improve the knowledge base of Fitness coaches
  • Attend monthly fitness staff meetings and required educational presentations
  • Build SUMHIIT attendance and retain current clientele
  • Manage all new member onboarding and outreach efforts including but not limited to studio newsletters, new member welcome calls, studio event promotions, etc.
  • Execute studio events and build external relationships with local businesses
  • Address and resolve member concerns where applicable

Experience and about you:

  • Fitness industry / Studio Management experience is highly desired
  • Displays enthusiasm, energy and a passion for health and fitness Industry
  • Bachelor or Associates degree in an exercise-related field is highly preferred
  • Must hold and maintain a current CPR certification
  • Naturally connects with a range of people and personalities
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to inspire and motivate groups of customers
  • Must possess excellent leadership qualities and management skills to create a positive, successful & thriving environment for staff and clients
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage client and staff concerns
  • Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance
  • Ability to work and excel in a team environment
  • Enjoys and thrives in sales-focused roles; a go-getter with the ability to direct sales through corporate initiatives, outreach programs and local community events
  • Desire and capacity to train all fitness levels
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
